The project goal was to design and craft a planter stand using only traditional joinery. I started using offcuts of some teak that I had lying around. Making the top as a 3/8” thick 7”x7” square bordered with ‘live’ edge, mitered trim revealing the antique face grain unnaturally situated on the tables edge. Legs are connected to the under structure using a doweled rabbeted-scarf joint, and the whole bottom section is mortised and doweled in to the tabletop to ensure lateral growth over time/moisture. I found that making a 4way 90deg. jig for glue ups came in really handy, And Im already thinking of ways i can dovetail the legs into the top for future iterations of this design. Enjoy!
